Privacy Policy
Last updated September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Qchatz collects, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to everyone who uses Qchatz.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — your email address, used to log you in.
- Profile information — name, date of birth, gender, who you want to meet, city, photos, bio, interests and prompt answers you provide.
- Activity — likes, passes, matches, messages, random chat/video sessions (who you were paired with, when, and for how long), and your daily video usage.
- Payment information — plan and purchase records (plan, amount, date, order and payment reference numbers). Card and UPI details are entered with our payment processor and never reach or get stored by us.
- Camera and microphone — used only during video calls, only after your browser asks for your permission. Video and audio go through our video provider in real time; we do not record calls.
- Technical information — your last-active time, and basic device and request data used for security and to prevent abuse.
- Your consent — the time you accepted our Terms and this Policy.
We never collect your precise location. The only location we hold is the city or region you type into your profile.
2. Why we use it
- To run Discover, matching, messaging, random chat and random video.
- To apply free-plan limits and paid features.
- To process payments, send invoices and manage your plan.
- To send you login codes, receipts and in-app notifications.
- To review reports, enforce our Terms and keep members safe.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising or profiling beyond what these features need.
3. Who can see it
Other members can see your profile (name, age, city, photos, bio, interests, prompts) according to your discovery settings, and your online status if you leave it switched on. Messages are visible only to the people in that conversation. People you have blocked, and who have blocked you, cannot see or contact each other.
4. Service providers we share data with
We use these providers to run Qchatz, and each receives only what it needs to do its job:
- Database and storage provider — account data, login, file storage for photos and real-time messaging.
- Hosting provider — runs the app.
- Payment processor — takes and confirms payments.
- Email delivery provider — sends login codes and payment receipts to your email.
- Video provider — live video and audio during video calls.
Our servers and these providers operate in several countries, including South Korea and the United States, so your information may be processed outside India. We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect someone's safety.
5. Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, it is deactivated: your profile is hidden from all other members and you are logged out. A plan you have paid for is left untouched — plans never renew, so there is nothing to cancel — and carries on if you restore the account before it ends. We do not erase the data at that point — we keep your account information, activity and payment records so the account is restored automatically, exactly as you left it, if you log back in, and for legal, fraud-prevention and accounting purposes. You can ask us to permanently erase all of it at any time using the contact details in section 11, and we will do so, except for anything we are legally required to keep. Our payment processor keeps its own transaction records under its own policies.
7. Your rights and choices
- Access and download — Settings → Account → "Download my data" gives you a copy of your data as a file.
- Correct — edit your profile any time from Settings.
- Control visibility — Settings → Privacy lets you hide your online status or pause your profile from Discover.
- Delete or erase — Settings → Account → "Delete account" deactivates your account and hides your profile, and logging back in restores it. To have your data permanently erased, contact us (section 11).
- Withdraw consent or complain — contact us using the details below.
8. Children
Qchatz is only for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger, and we deactivate an account we learn belongs to someone under 18.
9. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, database-level access controls, and restricted staff access. No system is completely secure, so please use a login you control and tell us straight away if you suspect misuse of your account.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app.
11. Contact and grievances
For privacy questions, data requests or complaints, contact us at qchatz.support@gmail.com. You can also use our Contact page.
